Prior RTH close
01Horizon publishes the upcoming RTH expected range when the completed New York cash session closes, so the next session context is available before Extended trading begins.
Rio Horizon is a session-range intelligence tool for NinjaTrader 8. It publishes the upcoming RTH expected range from the completed prior cash session, follows how Extended trading develops against that fixed context, then tracks the actual opening gap, gap-fill progress, and live RTH development after the New York open.
Release status
Rio Horizon has completed its internal production-readiness validation across session transitions, Playback, F5 reloads, opening-minute restoration, compact/full HUD persistence, projected-level controls, gap-fill continuity, and multiple independent chart instances.

One forecast. Three session states.
Horizon separates the expected range from the session lifecycle. The forecast is already available before Extended trading begins; the later handoffs add live session information without replacing it.
Horizon publishes the upcoming RTH expected range when the completed New York cash session closes, so the next session context is available before Extended trading begins.
The forecast stays fixed while Horizon tracks Extended range development and the live distance from the previous RTH close.
At the New York cash open, Horizon locks the actual opening gap and begins live RTH development plus one-way gap-fill progress toward the prior close.
Chart views
Before the cash open
Horizon keeps the next RTH expected range visible while Extended trading develops. The HUD shows the current Extended regime, range consumption, and live distance from the previous RTH close without inventing an opening gap before the open exists.

At the RTH open
At 6:30 AM PT, the live distance from the prior close becomes the fixed opening gap. The bottom meter then records the deepest fill reached toward the prior close, while the main HUD tracks current RTH range development separately.

Projected boundaries
The S/R control places short projected Support and Resistance references around the active trading area. They move forward with the current chart instead of becoming full-width permanent levels.

Workspace ready
Compact HUD mode keeps the core readout visible when screen space is tight. Separate Horizon instances maintain their own forecast, gap, fill, development, and projected-level state across instruments.

Horizon intelligence
Expected range, Extended development, opening gap, gap-fill progress, and projected boundaries answer different questions. Horizon keeps them distinct instead of reducing them to one score.
A fixed next-session range reference is carried forward from the completed prior RTH session.
See how much of the upcoming expected range has already developed before the New York cash open.
During Extended trading, Horizon shows the live signed distance from price to the previous RTH close.
The 6:30 AM PT RTH open locks the true gap from the previous cash close instead of estimating it beforehand.
The fill meter records the maximum progress back toward the prior close and does not retreat when price moves away again.
Toggle short Support and Resistance references near the active trading area without extending permanent lines across the chart.
Production readiness
Horizon's production validation includes the moments where stateful indicators most often become inconsistent: opens, closes, reloads, Playback, and multiple simultaneous instances.
Validated through the 1:00 PM PT cash close, 3:00 PM PT Extended reopen, and 6:30 AM PT RTH open without waiting for an extra minute bar.
Validated through reloads during active sessions while preserving the forecast, opening state, gap-fill progress, HUD mode, and S/R visibility.
Validated through NinjaTrader Playback across the session lifecycle, including first-minute RTH reconstruction.
Validated with independent ES and MNQ instances across separate chart panels without state bleeding between instruments.
